New wildlife shots

These shots, never before seen by anyone except my dog Chato, were taken in the last few weeks... :)

And unlike my last posting, are indeed totally new.

This is a shot looking over the shoulder of a Herring Gull, and in the background are American Oystercatchers.

A Great White Egret, standing almost four feet tall, took time out from hunting to pose for me.

An eight inch long Sanderling hunts on the beach.

Another small shore bird the "Semi-palmated" Plover is also on the same beach

Two shots of a very rare (for Brooklyn) Heron. This is the Tri-colored or Louisiana Heron. I see them once or twice a Summer. In the first shot he doesn't appear much larger then the Black Duck in the foreground. Such is not the case. While not a large Heron, he stands about 28 inches high.

Another shot of the resident Yellow Crowned Night Heron
