That last one referenced King Lear, which is my favourite Shakespeare play. :-D

The part it referenced reminded me of a line from Kitano Takeshi's Zatoichi:

Even with my eyes wide open, I can't see anything.

Anyway, the issues in these articles are well worth starting a thread on. How free are we really? Do many people take such a nonchalant attitude to their lack of freedom, and the injustices happening to them and around them (and farther afield), because they don't know or realise it's happening, or because they really do not care, distracted as they are by either pop culture or the perceived hardships of their own lives?
